In late 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, visited the UK to deliver a address at the Oxford Union.

The speech was interrupted by numerous demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to travel that evening, told Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Protesters slowed down speech don't think I can catch the flight we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein replied: "That. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 9:50 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "U r an amazing assistant".

These messages were released on Wednesday alongside over 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the deceased financier convicted of sex crimes.

The release by the House oversight committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's identity is withheld. Media outlets managed to establish his involvement by cross-referencing the dates, occurrences, and places referenced.

For example, Epstein discusses arranging a plane from Scotland for the redacted user in the chat, and offers praise their "Oxford speech". Bannon took part in the News Xchange conference on 14 November, and delivered the talk at the Oxford Union on November 16.

Bannon, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, did not reply on the inquiry.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon was one of the president's key aides in the lead-up to the 2016 election and in the early days of his presidency, but resigned from the White House in August 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a documentary about Epstein prior to his passing and allegedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a recording of his show recently, he said: "We plan to release the film, the multi-part documentary, next year - at the start of next year."

But the newly released documents suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than being his biographer, with the disgraced financier occasionally seeming to act like a aide.

A few days prior to the exchange in which Epstein seemed to booked a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "what's it like to have the most highly paid travel agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r quite capable asst", to which Epstein replied "Massages. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "Abu Dhabi" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you're well looked after."

British Affairs Mentioned in Exchanges

The published communications also show Bannon and Epstein discussing British political matters in 2018.

On the same day his address at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the EU exit thing this morning with Farage, Johnson and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a reference to Theresa May, the embattled British leader at the period, he added: "The guys are attempting to proceed. may soon…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "I think staying as much as you can in the UK. Best-- so others get the dedication of your follow-up."

Soon after, Epstein asked: "Can Theresa may survive". Bannon replied: "I don't see how BUT the guys over here have no balls" and noted "Johnson ; Gove; Rees Mogg; Davis - someone has to take charge".

Theresa May was eventually toppled in 2019 after withstanding two votes of no confidence in late 2018.

A representative for Reform UK informed media: "Farage has never been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence such a meeting occurred.

The US House of Representatives will decide next week on whether the justice department should make public all its records concerning its investigation into Epstein, who died in prison in that year.

Attention in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was reignited this week after the publication of more than 20,000 documents from his archives.

Some of those mentioned the former president, who has repeatedly denied any impropriety. The president was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but claims they fell out in the early 2000s, two years before Epstein was initially charged.
