How these Broncos together with the malleable QB can halt that Kansas City Chiefs' reign.

NFL 2025 season: Week six
Live coverage includes live text for Sunday's games on multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage is available through designated networks for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).
It's week six of the football calendar , after last week's discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, they both lost their unbeaten records.
Notable during those contests was the number of penalties each committed. Philadelphia did so at crucial times so they essentially defeated themselves after leading 17-3 going into the fourth period against the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this Sunday.
However it was positive to see how Denver's QB the rookie was able to overcome that deficit before lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory by four points.
The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They are first in red zone defence, while the Eagles are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that battle.
They had effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily sending more than four pass rushers but they could plug two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.
At the start of the season, it was noted on a program how the Broncos could be the current year's dark horses. They finished the previous year strongly then did a good job in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?
Recently acquired TE their tight end has stepped up significantly while recent running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He now ranks fifth in the NFL in ground gains (402) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).
It's impressive how the coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.
That shows how Denver are a squad that wants to prioritize the run, since you can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush and keeps you in favourable situations.
It's also benefited quarterback Bo Nix, who entered the NFL as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 TDs – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).
Other elite QBs have the arm strength to pass all over, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He has incredible arm talent, which is different, plus he's highly agile.
His assets are his mobility, being able to pass on the run, and finding varied release points to deliver the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got great poise in the pocket and is not really fazed by the blitz. He aims to avoid being tackled whenever possible and is able throw in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and is quick to decide.
If you constantly run the ball it eats up time and forces the opponent to be on the field for longer, and when you have a mobile QB the defence must cover the area vertically side to side. This proves draining.
The quarterback has pushed back with the coach on the sideline at times and I think Payton likes that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a rookie QB who's kind of like moldable clay. The coach can really develop him how he desires to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.
Payton owns a championship and now passed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the success Denver are experiencing on offence is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB helps make him into who he is.
There's no better a better guy in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and boost confidence.
I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they strong enough to face a top squad at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.
Right now, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're working above average, that's a good place to be in their division. All they need to do to continue this trajectory.
They're really good at embracing their strength, which is running the ball, and this is exactly what they should do against the Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.
New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad yet to win any game.
Since the NFL began tracking turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway through five games, this is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.
Following this Sunday's game, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.
In the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the division.
It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
