Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is not yet known and the US has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - stated they have intercepted missiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," the statement continued.

It said missile fragments landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
