The Secret Organization is set to play a huge role in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the real showdown won’t unfold until the third season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the skilled actor has joined the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Bon Clay. This character has the ability to change into an exact copy of anyone they’ve made contact with with their right hand. Escola, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will play a version of that figure re-envisioned as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the original manga and animated series.
This performer joins multiple fresh additions set to bring Baroque Works to the screen, featuring chief Sir Crocodile, portrayed by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the ensemble as the ruler of Alabasta.
Even though Bon Clay is a key figure of Baroque Works, the persona won’t appear until One Piece the third season. Considering the next season set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this marks a major departure in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could signal further changes to the story’s structure.
Their mix of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the character. Along with their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.
Netflix's live-action One Piece program is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
