Nigel Farage Claims Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling students that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on the UK education system, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike very quickly after securing a victory,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They promote this harmful mindset.”

In response to these assertions, the head of a major education union dismissed the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and now, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

The party, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and seems not to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, his comments suggested the party would overhaul the educational framework. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, he commented: “All I want education to do to foster independent thought – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves as opposed to current practices where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in recent years led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for students.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He said such groups were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I’ll assist garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to these educational programs. I pledge this now and I will follow through.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for free to all who wish to learn.”
