Vince Zampella, Has Died in a Los Angeles Vehicle Accident
The visionary game developer, who helped create the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in California aged 55.
Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, a game studio that he helped create.
The influential industry figure lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in LA on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.
"This represents an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are with his family and friends, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
